Inside Colocation

The public school where I've been teaching for the last 8 years has been targeted for a "colocation" with a corporate-model charter school. Most people, including me, don't know what a colocation looks like, though we've heard bleak stories. I've started this blog to document it as best I can.
This is one of my old ACs. Every classroom in the basement had one or two working ACs. The second floor, where our high school is newly located, has only a few working ACs, and those are prone to blow out after just a few minutes of use. The second floor does not have proper wiring to support that level of usage. My classroom, for instance, has one outlet for the entire classroom. One. Meanwhile, Success has installed twenty-something brand new units in one day on the basement’s grid.
